USPS Ground Advantage: The Newest Shipping Method
This July, USPS introduced USPS Ground Advantage that combines features of the previously offered First Class, Parcel Select Ground, and Retail Ground services. Ground Advantage keeps many of the same restrictions you remember from its predecessors. You’re able to ship a package up to 70lbs in the standard 2-5 days to all 50 US States, territories, and military bases.
How does this impact your business?
If you ship regularly through USPS, you can schedule a package pickup directly to your home or office.
If you don’t have a label printer, you can use USPS’s Click-N-Ship service to print one for you at an additional cost.
If you run an e-commerce website using the USPS rate plugin, you may notice changes to shipping options. If you’re utilizing and custom configurations, we’d advise you to ensure that they still function properly. Let us know if you need any help with that 😉
If you ship hazardous materials, Ground Advantage is now your first choice option for shipping (as they cannot be shipped by air).
A $100 insurance policy is included for lost or damaged merchandise, with up to $5,000 in insurance available to purchase.
